AetherEdu Suite requires Moodle 5.0+ (April 2025 release or newer). PHP 8.3+. We don't support Moodle 4.x because Moodle 5.0+ introduced the native AI subsystem and the new /public directory structure that AetherEdu depends on. If you're on 4.x, plan your upgrade alongside the AetherEdu rollout.
AetherEdu plugins use Moodle 5.0+'s native AI Providers system. You configure your preferred provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or self-hosted Ollama). Bring your own API key. In v1.5 we'll offer an optional AetherEdu Managed AI service ($19/site/month) where we proxy the AI calls so you don't manage keys — but BYO is always available.
First-class. The theme is designed RTL-first (Arabic, Hebrew, Persian render natively). Ships with English + Arabic at launch. Community-contributed translations for Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Chinese in v1.5. Moodle's native language pack system — you can override any string.
